Revati Nakshatra

The deity is Pushan — the shepherd of souls, the lord of crossroads, the god who escorts the dying to the next life and the lost back home. The symbol is the fish pair in the stream; the yoni is the female elephant, matriarch and memory-keeper. Mercury rules this nakshatra. Revati is the 27th and final nakshatra, the end of the wheel. She is the woman whose love can dissolve the difference between herself and whatever needs her — and that is both her gift and her dissolution.

She is the friend who takes in the stray cat, the broken roommate, the cousin going through it, the displaced colleague — and somehow she has space for all of them. The teacher whose students remember her decades later. The aunt who comes to every funeral. Pushan protects travelers; Pisces blurs the boundary; Revati is who you find at the end of any hard journey. The elephant remembers everyone she has cared for, and she has cared for many.

The motif that keeps appearing in her life: she becomes the gentle harbor. People recover at her house. Mothers who can't go home to their own mothers go to hers. Friends in relationship crisis come and stay until they can breathe again. Animals are calmer around her. Even strangers tell her things on planes — she has the face of safe passage.
