Swati Nakshatra

The deity is Vayu — the wind, the breath of the gods, the moving force that goes everywhere and is owned by no one. The symbol is the blade of grass, the plant that survives the storm by bending; the yoni is the male buffalo, slow but unmovable when it chooses. Rahu rules this nakshatra. She is the woman who refuses to be possessed — and ironically becomes the one everyone wants to win.

She is the friend whose loyalty is real but uncontainable. The colleague who works hard and disappears for a month and reappears with the work done. The lover who is fully present and yet always carries a returnable plane ticket somewhere in her bag. Vayu does not stop being the wind because someone built a house. Libra makes her social and gracious; Rahu makes her unwilling to obey the conventional rules of relationship.

The motif that keeps appearing in her life: people want to claim her and she keeps slipping. Men propose; companies offer; families lobby for her to settle. She negotiates beautifully and somehow still arrives back at her own terms. Friends call her flaky until they realize she's actually one of the most consistent people they know — she just refuses to be pinned by other people's frames.
